Mexico is a South American country in North America, officially designated the United Mexican States. Another option for travelers looking for Mexico Travel destinations outside of the Playa del Carmen and Cancun areas is Puerto Vallarta. This area is Mexico's second largest resort and is home to a multitude of lavish hotels, resorts, clubs, spas, restaurants and other amenities. Puerto Vallarta is a beautiful beach town with a unique culture and a rich history. While here visitors can take a trip to Santa Fe de Antioquia to see the stunning ruins of a seven hundred-year-old church and learn about the history of the Indians that lived here long before the Americans came. Puerto Vallarta is also the perfect place for those who want to see the sights of Mexico's Caribbean coast.
